The trick performed by one skier/stuntman is so improbable it's almost laughable.

In the video below, Matthias Giraud skis off a cliff and then deploys a parachute, all while an avalanche tears down the French Alps behind him.

Yeah, that's right.

Giraud and partner Stefan Laude used their avalanche location devices to locate the perfect spot for the stunt. On his website, Giraud notes that he had a helicopter rescue team on standby.

This is why Giraud's nickname is "Super Frenchie."

"It was probably the best run of my life," Giraud said. And that's coming from a man who's been on some pretty crazy rides.
