Alan Pardew wasn't on the sidelines for his squad's Premier League matchup with Everton on Monday, but he was still calling the shots.
The Newcastle manager was suspended after shoving an assistant referee during a game against Tottenham Hotspur on August 18. Pardew was given a two-game "touch-line" suspension and fined £20,000 (roughly $32,500).
Monday was the first game of Pardew's suspension. And lest he be too far from the action, Pardew sat in the stands and phoned in advice to assistant coaches. This set-up was legal because Pardew was only banned from the sideline, not the stadium itself.
With Pardew chiming in on his cell phone, Newcastle managed a 2-2 draw with Everton.
Here's to hoping Pardew has an unlimited plan.
