A badminton match between two former Olympic teammates turned ugly over the weekend when Thai player Bodin Issara dropped his racket and began chasing former teammate Maneepong Jongjit. Issara and his current partner, Pakkawat Vilailak were disqualified from the Yonex Canada Grand Prix tournament after the fight, which was caught on video, according to the Agence France-Presse.

As the video below shows, Issara caught Jongjit and began punching him repeatedly while onlookers screeched in horror.

The two represented Thailand in the 2012 Olympics and reached the quarterfinals, but split when Issara announced his retirement for personal reasons earlier this year, according to the Vancouver Sun. Issara retired so he could take care of his ailing mother, but ended up returning to the sport with another partner.

On Monday, the Badminton World Federation said it was investigating the incident. "The men's doubles final ended in unusual circumstances," BWF said in a statement, according to the AFP. "The events surrounding the conclusion of this match will be thoroughly investigated."

It was not immediately clear what caused the fight.
