Gerald Ford was President of the United States and mood rings were big sellers last time this NBA team went an entire season without selling out a single home game.
Nothing lasts forever, as the Phoenix Suns are finding out. Steve Nash and the boys in the desert are completing their first home season on Wednesday night without a single home sellout since the 1974-75 season.
With 18,422 seats to fill at US Airways Center, the Suns have had three games draw more than 18,000, but none sold completely out.
That hasn't happened in 37 years.
The Arizona Republic points out the Suns have been hurt by the condensed lockout schedule that didn't have the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, which all missed out on trips to the Grand Canyon state.
Despite not selling out a home game, the Suns were still a solid road draw with veterans Steve Nash and Grant Hill.
Phoenix is ranked 21st in the home NBA's attendance standings, which is the franchise's lowest since the 1991-92 season when Tom Chambers and Kurt Rambis were on the roster.
