You know your football team is in trouble when the biggest fan in the stadium leaves the game at halftime.

That's what happened Thursday in New Jersey, when Fireman Ed reportedly left MetLife Stadium midway through the New England Patriots' 49-19 beatdown of the Jets.

Fireman Ed, whose real name is Ed Anzalone, has supported the team through thick and thin. He's been a mainstay at Jets games for decades, and he leads the "J-E-T-S" chant at MetLife Stadium. Anzalone has even been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Hall of Fans.

So when Fireman Ed leaves a game early, people notice.

To make matters worse, Anzalone also deleted his Twitter account on Thursday. Former Jets defensive lineman Kris Jenkins sent out this tweet after hearing about Ed's antics.

This, Jets fans, is officially rock bottom.
