Poker players are always looking for better ways to hide their emotions and avoid the dangerous "tell."
They'll try sunglasses, caps or whatever else they think will help. So why not Botox?
Dr. Jack Berdy, a doctor of aesthetic medicine in New York, has introduced a program he calls "Pokertox." The service mixes Botox and facial fillers with the goal of enhancing a player's "poker face."
"Some people might get a card they like or don't like and raise their eyebrows," Berdy told The Huffington Post. "If that's the common reaction, we can put Botox in certain areas to minimize them."
If a player is looking to try out some reverse psychology, Dr. Berdy told The Huffington Post he can give people Botox in certain areas that would make it seem like they have a "tell," when really they are bluffing.
Unfortunately for Dr. Berdy, no one has signed up for his service since he introduced it last week. And unless you're a serious poker player, the combination of expenses and risk might not be worth it.
"Plastic surgery is expensive," poker player Jay Melancon told The Huffington Post. "You'd have to play in very high-stakes games to make it worth it, and if you have a 'tell' that is that obvious, you shouldn't be playing in those games."
