While some former players get into team ownership after the retire, Knicks big man Amar'e Stoudemire apparently doesn't want to wait until he hangs up his jersey for good. An important announcement Friday on Twitter:

Stoudemire has been outspoken about his relationship with Judaism for years and is part of an ownership group that includes super agent Arn Tellem, according to The Jerusalem Post. The group is headed by businessman Ori Allon.

The group, according to the Jersualem Post, will get a 60 percent stake in the organization and will eventually have a 90 percent stake. The previous owner of the shares, Guma Aguiar, disappeared off the coast of Florida last year.

Stoudemire is also set to coach the Canadian team in this year's Maccabiah Games in Israel.
