Sonya Reid had no idea what was coming.

Reid, the mother of former Kansas star and current Sacramento Kings rookie Ben McLemore, thought she was simply opening a bag of Taco Bell food. And that's when she spotted a snake. Her reaction, as they say, was priceless.

It was a part of her son's conniving plan to scare the living daylights out of her. And it worked.

McLemore posted the video to Instagram on Monday, and we have to admit, it's pretty funny.

Thought by some to be the rookie with the most NBA potential, McLemore earned high praise from LeBron James on the night of the NBA draft:

As USA Today's Eric Prisbell wrote in this fantastic feature on McLemore, he and his family struggled through unbelievable hardships which included the incarceration of his brother and his mom's fight to put food on the table. McLemore overcame this adversity and was picked seventh overall in the 2013 NBA draft.

With McLemore on track to receive $2.4 million in 2013-14, something tells us he and his family won't be eating Taco Bell much longer. Still, Reid would be smart to think twice before opening any bags handed to her by her son.
