Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) is expected to unveil a neat partnership this week with GovX, a discounted shopping site for military members and first responders.

While military members receive discounts at many baseball parks across the country, they normally have to purchase the ticket in person to receive the special price.

Thanks to this partnership, military members and first responders can now buy tickets, merchandise and even MLB.tv online through GovX.com. The website, which is accessible for more than three million users, is equipped with technology to verify and authenticate their status as military members and first responders.

"The partnership with GovX is part of our ongoing commitment to honor and thank those who put their lives on the line every day to protect our nation and communities," Noah Garden, MLBAM's executive vice president, said in a statement. “We always are looking for ways to make the game more accessible to all audiences and this venture with GovX helps us forge new connections with a passionate fan base that is so deserving of our attention and support. We are proud to be offering this program."

Currently the Padres, A's, Giants, Yankees, Pirates and the Mariners have ticketing deals with GovX, and more teams are expected to add this discount function in the coming weeks.
