Carissa Moore has two world championships and six Association of Surfing Professionals Elite victories. She has sponsorships from Nike, Red Bull, Target and Hurley, and she has more than $250,000 in career earnings. Moore also just turned 22 on Aug. 27.
That said, there is a lot more to the Honolulu native than winning. On a surfboard, Moore frees her mind and feels comfortable, even if she does not land on top of the winner's stand.
