On Friday, Middle Tennessee's stunning upset of Michigan State annihilated brackets around the world. Michigan State was a 5-1 favorite to win the Tournament. On NCAA.com, 21.9 percent of users picked the Spartans to win it all.
Even if you took Michigan State to go the whole way, your NCAA Tournament is not over. Most people had Michigan State going deep in the tourney. With an upset champion, there is still a sliver of hope for those who took the Spartans.
For Tom Izzo and Denzel Valentine, that is not the case. The four-year marriage of player and coach ended for good. And that love, as Izzo proved, is real.

According to 247 Sports, Valentine was the No. 105 recruit in the 2012 class. Izzo turned him into a National Player of the Year candidate.
